Butterfly Conservation

Saving Butterflies and Moths

Aims to

Saving Butterflies and Moth's strategy has three strategic goals:

  • Halve the number of the UK's threatened species of butterflies and moths
  • Improve the condition of 100 of the most important landscapes for butterflies
  • Transform 100,000 wild spaces in the UK for people, butterflies and moths

MISSION

Butterfly Conservations vision as a charity is a world where butterflies and moths thrive and can be enjoyed by everyone, forever. If we want to make significant steps towards this vision, we need to deliver a step change in UK nature conservation.

OCEANARIUM PARTNERSHIP

At Bournemouth Oceanarium we are introducing the public to one of our newest conservation charities to have partnered with. Having begun growing our own wild flower garden to support local biodiversity and conserve local butterflies we started working with this local charity. We have had members of our team head out and help with hand on conservation through assisting and completing butterfly surveys. Future plans for our conservation team are to continue helping with surveys and habitat management and begin surveys on our own garden during survey season.
