Share Savvy

The Oceanarium supports the Share Savvy campaign by educating visitors about the negative impacts of irresponsible social media sharing on wildlife

AIMS TO

Stop the glamorisation of exotic pets and wildlife encounters on social media that fuel the illegal trade and harms animals

FOCUSES ON

Educating the public on how liking, sharing, and posting certain animal content (like pet primates or close-up selfies with wild animals) can inadvertently harm species like primates, otters, and big cats. It encorages responsible sharing to protect endangered species and animal welfare, and involves zoos and aquariums in events like #ShareSavvySaturday to raise awarness and funds for conservation.

OCEANARIUM PARTNERSHIP

The Oceanarium supports this campaign through social media collaborations, educational videos and posts, public education and engagement, education tables and general awarness raising
