Education Host - Full Time (seasonal)

The Oceanarium Aquatics department is seeking an enthusiastic and pro-active host to join the team.

Firmly established as one of the area's most popular visitor attractions, the Oceanarium is home to a diverse range of creatures - from sharks and otters, to turtles, crocodiles and penguins.

The role includes provision and development of the attraction's educational offering - ensuring that all visitors receive an inspiring, informative and fun experience through regular talks, tours, feeds and interactive opportunities.

Working with the husbandry team, the role is also involved in the development, production and maintenance of all displays, providing the highest standards of animal welfare and husbandry at all times. This includes ensuring all zoo licence regulations and BIAZA guidelines are adhered to and that related administration duties are fulfilled.

The role is also involved in the coordination and delivery of the conservation and research activities at the Oceanarium.

The ideal candidate will have relevant qualifications in a science related subject and experience in aquatics and animal care, along with excellent customer service and presentation skills with a passion for conservation and education.

This hourly paid, seasonal, full-time position includes weekend and bank holiday working.
